Helping struggling pets feel more comfortable, mobile, and alive again
Many pet owners come to me when they feel they've run out of options or simply want to do more for a beloved companion. They often describe me as kind, calm, and genuinely invested in their pet's wellbeing. Some have shared that their pets seemed to know I was there to help, while others have expressed gratitude for the extra comfort, vitality, independence, and precious time they were able to enjoy with their pets.
Because when pets feel better, every day together becomes a little more meaningful.
Using gentle, non invasive Bowen Therapy and a whole-animal approach, I work to settle and reset the nervous system and observe patterns that may be affecting your pet's comfort, mobility, and overall wellbeing. Posture, behaviour, energy levels, confidence, and even the way they interact with their families can provide valuable clues about how they are feeling.
Your involvement in your pet's well-being along with deepening the connection between you, is an important part of healing. Together, we'll work toward helping your pet feel more comfortable, more confident, and more like themselves again.
Liz helped my old and sick dog tremendously. My 14 year old pupper, Sophie, has a little list of very serious health issues, and in December of 2024, we were told by the vet to keep her as comfortable as possible, because she was living her last days. She wasn’t eating and could barely even lift her head. It was heart wrenching. I truly believe Liz brought her back to Sophie’s little old self with her therapy sessions. Her appetite began to pick up, and she quickly gained her energy back. I know that is what saved her from being so close to death, but I just knew it wasn’t her time yet. This has given my family and I over 1.5 years (and counting!) to be with Sophie! I am so grateful for every day I have with Sophie, and to be blessed with so much more time with her is more than I could have ever asked for. I will never be able to express how much I needed this for my dog, and how much Sophie needed Liz at that time when there were no other options. I recommended Liz and the therapy she does, and on top of that, she is a wonderful and kind person, with a beautifully gentle and calming energy. Thank you again, Liz.

My Golden Retriever, Katie is 10 years old and has cancer. She is palliative. When Liz explained to me what course she is studying, I was more than happy to agree to have Katie be a case study. Although Bowen Therapy is meant for dogs with mobility issues, I believe that Liz has helped Katie have a better quality of life by her therapy. Katie become so relaxed after a session that she sleeps through the night. Katie has enjoyed going for short walks, sometimes twice a day! Before Liz applied therapy, Katie did not want to go for walks at all. I've also had someone comment that Katie has life back in her eyes. I agree! I do believe that Bowen Canine Therapy is also beneficial for palliative dogs, providing them with a better quality of life for their last days with us. Thank you Liz for the patience, kindness and humour you gifted my Katie girl. Most sincerely, Karen Bauer (Katie's Mom)

Update: Karen said goodbye to her beloved Katie in November of 2019. She was a beautiful, gentle soul and helped me as much as I helped her. RIP Sweet Katie.

Jax is a Yellow Lab who is almost 14 years old. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. Over the past couple of years hip dysplasia has really affected his mobility. He struggles to be able to get up from laying down on our laminate floors especially if he as been laying for awhile and often requiring assistant to get up. Stairs were also something he struggled with and would stay at the bottom to work up momentum to go up a few steps. Otherwise he is overall healthy happy dog. Liz kindly offered her services to see if Jax would benefit from having a series of three Bowen treatments. So we gave it a try. From the very first time Liz came into our home to treat Jax he was alert and acting like he knew she was here to help him. His first treatment went very well. He was very responsive to her allowing Liz to put her skills to work. His coat now lays smoother on him. He was able to walk more freely and go up and down stairs with a lot more ease. He doesn’t stand at the bottom to think about it. I also noticed that his hind end was not dropping down as much as it normally did. This was a big improvement after only one treatment. The second and third treatment brought him even more energy and bounce in his step. He moved much more freely and with more speed. He now spends a lot more time being active. He also attempted to lift his leg to pee which he hasn’t done in years. I also found him on the couch after our third treatment which he has been unable to do for about 4 years. He also now sits where before he would only stand or lay down. The biggest improvement I see is his ability to get up after laying down on the laminate floors on his own without assistant. Overall he has benefited from these treatments immensely and I would highly recommend trying it for your pet's health and longevity. I can’t thank Liz enough for offering to help my Jax live his best life full of energy, to have the ability to move freely without pain and to join us for long hikes this past winter with no troubles at all. Liz has the kindest heart and truly cares about the animals she is treating. Jax picked up on her calm inviting energy immediately and I feel this was so helpful with her treatments. Thank you very much Liz! You are truly gifted!

Barney is a rescued toy poodle, approximately 14 years old, with no significant health issues other than blindness and very mild stiffness in his hind end (for which he received chiropractic and osteopathic treatments in the past). Barney received a series of 3 distance energy and Bowen sessions from Liz beginning on March 27/23. On the morning of March 28th, he went out for his usual morning pee, except he sniffed and explored the entire backyard too - he has not done this since his first week with us when we adopted him 5 years ago! Clearly, he was feeling safer, more curious, and independent. Later that same day, he kept looking intently at my face (even though he is blind with inoperable cataracts), and his eyes looked clearer. I asked him if he wanted to play, which he absolutely did! Usually he just sleeps most of the time. The next day, he continued to seem more alert and wanted to play and do more, rather than sleep. The day after, I noticed that when he hopped up the last step to get into the house, he was jumping higher than usual, clearing the step by a full inch - he had "air"- more spring in his mobility. Pretty good for an old guy with supposed stiffness! On April 13th, my younger son, who does not spend much time with our dog asked, "Why is Barney getting more lively when he is supposed to be getting older and slowing down?" Even he had noticed, and I had not told him about Liz's work. It is now early May. Barney continues to sleep less, play more, and explore more, not only his own backyard, but out in the community as well - our walks have gotten much longer now and we call him Mr. Sniffy! He also has started using his dog bed to rest or sleep, rather than following me around like a shadow or lying on top of me. It is like he is 5 years younger, but more secure and independent. I told Liz it was an "anti-aging" treatment! We are so thankful to have met her. Liz is compassionate, skilled, and genuine. She has given Barney a better quality of life, and he truly deserves the best that life has to offer. We would not hesitate to ask for her to work with him again, should he need. Thank you so much, Liz.

Bowen Therapy (or Bowen Technique), named after Australian Tom Bowen (1916–1982) who developed the process with humans, is a non-invasive, all embracing modality that affects every cell and every system in the body restoring movement and function. Bowen Therapy utilizes subtle ‘moves’ that restore communication between the body and brain via the fascia to the Central Nervous System (CNS). This restored communication stimulates the body to heal itself, often with profound results.
Proven Benefits for:
• Comfort and ease of movement
• Mobility and flexibility
• Confidence navigating stairs, furniture, and daily activities
• Energy, vitality, and enthusiasm for life
