I have always loved and had animals in my life for as long as I can remember. From very young we always had a cat or dog or both. Our first dog when I was a small infant was a Dalmation named Domino. She was very sweet, kind and protective, but watching her deteriorate over the years was heartbreaking and possibly why I have a soft spot in my heart to help senior pets.
Animals are more than just pets to me. Perhaps it was because my two brothers were more than a decade older that my pets were like my siblings. I have always felt very comfortable with animals and they with me. My mom used to say that I was born on a horse and from grade one until I was a preteen, I pretty much WAS a horse in my imagination and drawings.
When I finally purchased a horse of my own in my 20's, I enjoyed competing in dressage and one-day eventing. My mare Alaska, (who I lovingly called Al) were a partnership in and out of the ring. We won many ribbons and championships based on that deep trust and understanding. I even got to help deliver her two foals!
Over the years my focus changed from horses to raising 3 boys, but dogs have remained constant companions and my personal trainers; getting me out everyday for exercise and to appreciate nature. In more recent years, my dogs have helped me learn about myself through their behaviours and emotions that often reflect my own to further my personal and spiritual growth. We can learn so much about ourselves and appreciation for life through our pets!
I think that’s what drew me to Animal Bowen Therapy and Energywork. These gentle and effective practices align with many of my core values and my lifelong love of animals. Bowen and Energywork is profound and as with any true inner change, it’s beautifully subtle; delivered through a gentle touch and intention. I love that I am just a facilitator of the animal’s innate, God- given ability to heal and that I can deliver relief to pets that are struggling and through that, help the people who love them.

In April of 2023, I became a foster parent for the Jack Russell Terrier Rescue of Ontario (JRTRO), needless to say I am no longer a foster parent, as I ended up adopting my first foster dog. It was meant to be as Max integrated with me and Mazie like there was no question that he had come to stay. The only thing better than having one dog is having two!
